28.12.10  Cicero and Dirk are victorious in Mechelen

Too good to be true, that is the feeling we had when our Cicero Z van Paemel entered the Mechelse Nekkerhal binnenkwam as winner. This feeling was stronger because of the fact that Cicero is our own breeding product and he was victorious on Belgian soil.
Cicero started together with Dirk Demeersman in the Zangersheide Sires of The World. In the 1m45 high class 9 combinations of the 42 stayed clear. Cicero and Dirk were the first clear, so they were the first to start in the jump-off, which was heigtened. A super jumping Cicero did not touch a fence and this in a quick time, that only was improved by Gregory Wathelet, but he had a fault. That way Dirk earned a first place with Cicero and another third place with Baron Cento Heldenlaan.

The son of Darco out of our breeding mare Quechua (Remondo x Randel Z) was last week the quickest of the 65 combinations in the 1m35 class on Saturday in the two star CSI of Roosendaal. The stallion in property of Starhorses is doing it very well the last time under his rider Thiago Ribas Da Costa.

His big brother Barbarossa van Paemel was present at the five star competition of La Coruña. On the first day he got one fault in the 1m50 class with Aldrick Cheronnet, but thanks to a quick time they were placed 9th.

The prestigious competition at Geneva was more a preparation for our Cicero Z van Paemel for Jumping Mechelen, that is starting within 2 weeks. Thursday evening Dirk Demeersman chose to start Cicero in the six bars competition. 16 combinations took part in the competition, in which most of them got over a height of 1m70. Half of the combinations got over a height of 1m85, among them Cicero, who easily jumped over it. On a jump of 1m95 they got a fault and the duo ended up on an ex aequo third place.

On this moment Dirk Demeersman is together with our Cicero Z van Paemel in Austria, where the four star CSI of Salzburg is held. Thursday the combination started for the first time in a 1m50 class against the clock. Yesterday Cicero did not come close to the wood in the first course of the Championat and qualified him for the jump-off of this 1m55 class. In a jump-off with eighteen Dirk and Cicero made a good tempo from the beginning and unfortunately they collected one fault.  Thanks to a fairly quick time they gained a 10th place.

Last weekend the five star CSI Brussels or Audi Masters took place in the Expo. On Saturday Cicero Z van Paemel immediately started in the 1m55 class with Dirk Demeersman. Unfortunately the combination got one fault in the end and could not participate in the jump-off. Below you can find the to view the video of Brussels. 12.01.10  Rendez-Vous successful broodmare

Rendez-Vous van Paemel, our Randel Z daughter by Granie, has contributed greatly to the success of 'Stoeterij van Paemel' at the last CSI Mechelen.
Her 5 year old son, Esperanto van Paemel (by Nonstop), was double clear in the stallion division and Che Guevara van Paemel (by Carthago), the first descendant of Rendez-Vous' daughter Betina van Paemel (by Darco), was also clear in the divsion for 4 year old stallions and by drawing lots he was send home with the cup.
The greatest success however was for het other son, Cicero Z van Paemel (by Carthago), who participated in the CSI-W 5* tournament. He achieved 2 results that we would never have dreamed in advance after he had been out for a couple of months. He was 7th in both the qualification of the World Cup (1m50) as in the World Cup (1m60)! And we owe all of this to one mare, Rendez-Vous.
